I “Dream of Italy” quite often. As a matter of fact, my private mythical desert (dessert?) island is there–10 miles between the coasts of Italy (off Sicily with Erice in sight, I think) and Asia–a geographic impossibility, but Gastronomic Heaven. It would be well-stocked with books–including those from Travelers Tales–groceries, have ever-speedy internet service (this is a mythical island, remember) with Skype, Netflix and online radio that besides playing my beloved jazz and blues would air a nice seasoning of classic rock, folk (I haven’t heard John McCutcheon over the airwaves in decades), and classics. There would be a decorative FedEx guy who would regularly fetch up my winnings from A Traveler’s Library, along with the other necessities such as the odd schweinebraten and some draft from Munich. It’s a really nice dream . . .

Richard: Thanks for sharing on Facebook.

Susan: You crack me up! Especially the “decorative FEDEX guy!! All the A-Traveler’s-Library pandering might flatter me, but it’s Random.org that makes the ultimate choice of winners.
Let me know when you get the mythical island, and I’ll book a flight. There is an airport, isn’t there?

    • Susan Reiners says:

Of course there’s an airport. Or maybe that “Beam me up, Scotty” aparatus from Star Trek. Yeah, that would be much better. Come visit! (Whether or not the spirits at Random.org are kind.)

  5. such a cool contest! Thanks. I also shared on FB.
