Just before we left for our weekend road trip to northern Arizona’s White Mountains (see Travels With Bogie) I read Leigh McAdam’s Hike Bike Travel article on landscape photography. Leigh had attended a landscape photography class and shared rules for composing good photos. How many of them did I incorporate in the pictures below? You may want to refer to Leigh’s article before you look at my autumn pictures and decide how I did.
Please take your best shot at counting the number of landscape photo rules (as related in Hike Bike Travel) that I managed to catch in these pictures when you comment below. These photos are my contribution to this week’s Travel Photo Thursday sponsored by Budget Traveler’s Sandbox. Follow the link to that site to see more photos by travel bloggers and photographers.
If you want some photo tips for yourself, take a look at Top Travel Photo Tips: From Ten Pro Photographers by Chuck Delaney, a terrific new book that came in after I wrote this post. And see more including captions for the photos in the book at their website at New York Institute of Photography.
Beautiful shots Vera. Love your converging lines! Fall colours are so spectacular in the States!
Lovely shots Vera! The twilight shot is my favorite.
Beautiful shots regardless of whether you followed guidelines or not.
It’s great to see what you picked up from Leigh’s post, Vera. Congrats. I could only identify 2 things — from memory. Good work!
Excellent framing, use of foreground, curves and converging lines. I also like the photo that leads you to the yellow trees at the end of the road. Great work Vera and thanks SO MUCH for the shout out. The White Mountains look like a wonderful place to visit.
